Education and wealth without character is like good food served in a refuse bin.
CONFRONT  THE RYTHMS OF OUR TIME
A rhythm is a regular or repeated pattern of events and in our context, they  have become almost a way of life especially for our children and youths. And they are not a lifestyle to be indulged because they are not positive and constructive for growth and so they have to be confronted for change by change agents. Some of those events or habits include:
 (1)Lackadaisical attitude to, and less time for work and learning;
(2) Greed and materialism;
 (3) Moral relativism and docility;
 (4) Low virtues of integrity, respect for age and institutions;
(5)Sexuality misuse and abuses;
(6) Cultism and violence;
 (7) Drugs, Alcohol and Codeine abuses;
 (8) Low grip on Character and Principles leading to easy and pervasive negative peer influence; (9) Global bastardisation of home grown values, traditions and culture;
(10) Low aspiration to the teaching profession
Youths who want to play a role in changing this retrogressive rhythm must know how to be change agents.
Barack Obama says; ‘’Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.’’  Finger pointing and blame game have never solved anything; young adults must speak out in an appropriate non violent manner to the hearing of many, if things are going wrong. You must be self confident enough to acknowledge that part of your right as a citizen is your right to vote right, to demand for your right when it is violated, and to demand for good governance. The crime of most people in sub developed or developing country such as ours is not that our brains are any inferior to anybody else’s (after all many of our people are trail blazers in other climes where the environment is more conducive for innovation),but the inability to rise above frustrating situations and let our voices be heard.
